For cable operators adding telephone services to their cable offering, the Commatch 6002 provides carrier-grade IP MGCP/NCS to PSTN V5.2 Access Gateway services. The platform is designed for VoIP over Cable TV (CaTV) networks and Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) networks.

Cable operators can launch VoIP offerings to their customers with confidence, using the Commatch field-proven systems for connectivity between IP access networks and existing Legacy Class V switches. By combining the legacy and next generation networks, operators can provide advanced telephony services beyond basic voice.

The gateway enables European cable operators to provide their IP EuroDOCSIS and DVB end-users with basic and advanced telephony services, such as call waiting, 3-way calls, call forwarding, caller ID, free-phone, legal call interception, CLASS and Intelligent Network features that are commonly available to the legacy PSTN subscribers.
