The Commatch 6004 access gateway solution is appropriate for the following applications:

Rural telephony over WiMAX. In remote areas where the cost per user should be kept to a minimum, Commatch 6004 provides a low-cost alternative to a softswitch.
Supplemental urban telephony: In urban areas, where WiMAX can be used to supplement voice capacity on existing legacy (TDM switch) infrastructure, Commatch 6004 provides immediate, seamless and low-cost integration to allow the TDM switches to manage VoIP users.

The Commatch 6004 is a carrier-grade SIP to V5.2 access gateway, connecting Class 5 switches over V5.2 to Voice over IP (VoIP) subscribers or residential gateways. A Local Exchange (LE) with the Commatch 6004 supports basic and advanced telephony services, such as caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, speed dialing, and conferencing to SIP end users.
