Metro Ethernet

Metro Ethernet today faces the challenge of increasing demands for bandwidth and quality of service, as well as an increasing number of subscribers.

To address today's challenges, converged and hybrid networks are using both traditional MPLS as well as newer technologies, predominantly PBT. Telrad's aggregators and customer premises units (CPEs) support both MPLS and PBT, bringing PBT all the way to the customer edge.

Bringing PBT to the customer edge means that a CPE can be placed in a multi-tenant building or campus, allowing easy management of separate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the different tenants. Telrad provides demarcation units for PBT support.

For hybrid networks, Telrad provides Ethernet over PDH and SDH aggregators and CPEs, as well as units for Pseudowire and Circuit Emulation (CES).
