Wireless Backhaul

As mobile devices handle increasing amounts of data, not just voice, the need for transport of both IP and TDM signals over wireless backhaul is one of the pressing needs of wireless carriers.

Within this framework, often the base stations are connected to the network by E1 or T1 lines, meaning that it is necessary to transport the Ethernet traffic over PDH or SDH backbones. At the network edge, an EoPDH aggregator consolidates the data received from the end points.

In order to provide an elegant solution for wireless backhaul, Telrad provides Ethernet over PDH/SDH CPE units with MPLS or PBT support, all the way to the base station. Within the framework of its TAG product line, Telrad provides aggregators for the first point of aggregation for wireless backhaul. Telrad's EoPDH and EoSDH units provide a customized, cost-effective solution for telecom vendors.

The TAG product line is produced on a white-label basis, sold only to telecom equipment manufacturers and not directly to operators.
