Empowering operators to provide quality Internet and Live Television services to end customers, who can in turn ‘cut the cord’ and save money
Lod, Israel – October 1, 2018—Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative LTE telecom solutions, today announced its partnership with OmniPoint Technology, to provide Over-The-Top (OTT) Media Services to wireless Internet service providers (WISPs) nationwide.
The OTT service, developed by OmniPoint, enables WISPs around the United States to offer this value-added service to increase revenues, while enabling end customers to cut the cord from traditional, big-name cable and TV providers and save money each month.
“We have seen a growing interest from our WISP customers in exploring value-added services such as OTT in order to improve revenues and customer retention,” commented Chris Daniels, President of the Telrad Networks Wireless Division. “Telrad is committed to helping our customers stay competitive, increase revenues and deliver quality services. Combining our superior LTE technology with this new OTT service will enable WISPs to deliver the best service offering and user experience available.”
Together, OmniPoint and Telrad will be offering the OTT media services to operators with a white labeling option so they can brand and resell the service as their own.
OTT media services represent a growing segment of the television viewing landscape, but until now have been difficult for wireless and rural operators to incorporate into their service offerings. This new service enables live television viewing from anywhere, over 122 channels, includes free movies and premium channels, operation on multiple devices, hundreds of on-demand entertainment options, and record/pause/replay features.
“Providing TV Everywhere is becoming a necessity for operators to stay competitive,” said Timothy Paul, CEO/President of OmniPoint Technology. “This has been an absolute success for our own ISP business. Our customers have greatly appreciated the service and the ability to cut TV/cable prices, in most cases, by 50%. The plug-and-play service allows for its immediate addition, and works perfectly with the Telrad Networks infrastructure. We’ve been really pleased with our increased revenues and our customer satisfaction rate and we’re excited to now offer this competitive service to other WISPs.”
OmniPoint Technology is leveraging Telrad’s LTE solution for the delivery of internet services to previously underserved subscribers in Virginia, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, and soon in Pennsylvania. OmniPoint selected Telrad after a rigorous competition between three major market players. Mr. Paul added, “The Telrad solution was the best fit for our rural markets, offering simplicity of deployment, remarkable quality of equipment, and strong ROI. We highly encourage other WISPs to work with Telrad and maximize their services and revenues.”
Mr. Paul will be presenting the OTT solution at a Telrad educational seminar being held on October 8, 2018, in Las Vegas at the WISPAPALOOZA conference. To sign up for the free event, visit https://www.telrad.com/event/seminar-wispapalooza.
